SHOOTING DAY 2

It was the second and final day of our music video shooting. Today, we recorded on two locations; a B&B that I booked for a few hours, and a ground.  We had to shoot mostly flashbacks of the characters' friendship and then Haya being alone at the same place with the same props.

This day, the footage turned out excellent. We were just in time for golden hour during our outdoor shots, and we recorded from every angle in multiple locations. Zuha did a great job with recording scenes that included both me and Haya, and as we had planned, we diversified the camera angles and shot sizes to make the footage more captivating for the montage.

I also did some camera handling, and recorded many lens-flaring shots, and other shots from the low angle. One particular shot that I am proud of is the one in which Haya is standing on the balcony, staring out at the sunset, and then she removes her arm to reveal a beautiful sunset. This was supposed to be a trial shot but both Zuha and I loved it so much that it is certainly going to make the final cut.

One of the shots that was challenging was the bird's eye view shot of Haya tossing and turning in bed. However, Zuha managed to record a great clip for that, despite the difficulty of the shot.

One more shortcoming we faced was that due to shortage of time, we could not get a birthday cake. So after setting the camera for the cake scene, Haya and I ran to a grocery store and got some cupcakes. We decided to play with symbolism by having two cupcakes when the characters are together, and one sad, lonely cupcake when Haya is alone. Even the cupcake on the plate reflected Haya and her situation.
